THE STUDENTS’ COUNCIL

The Students’ Council is a student body consisting of student representatives from various classes as well as from NSS and cultural committees and has always worked on the ideals of 'For the students, by the students. The Council helps the college to conduct various activities like admissions, arranging seminars, distribution of results, alumni meetings, and many more.

The purpose of the Students’ Council is to allow students to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out college activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to college spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. It works towards the betterment of the students and their college experience. The Council consists of 8 departments, 23 core members, and 450+ sub-committee members working together for all the activities. This prestigious apex body serves as a bridge between the students and the college. We firmly believe in and abide by the motto, 'Students of today, leaders of tomorrow.'


ACTIVITIES 2025-2026

FY Self-Finance Course Orientation 2025–26

Date: 19th July 2025         Attendees: 500+

The Students’ Council of H.R. College hosted the FY Self-Finance Course Orientation to welcome the new batch of 2025–26. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony and Ganesh Vandana, followed by an address by Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, who encouraged students to balance academics and activities.

Chief Guest Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani and Guest of Honour Ms. Devita Saraf inspired students through their motivational speeches. The event included faculty felicitations, magazine releases, and performances by student committees. Various college bodies presented their initiatives, concluding with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem — marking an enthusiastic start to the academic year.

FY B.Com Orientation 2025–26

Date: 26th July 2025         Venue: Rama & Sundri Watumull Auditorium         Attendees: 500+ students and parents

The Students’ Council of H.R. College organized the FY B.Com Orientation Programme to welcome the new batch of 2025–26. The event began with a lamp-lighting ceremony, Ganesh Vandana, and the H.R. video showcasing the college’s yearly highlights.

Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani addressed students as “Brand Ambassadors” and parents as “Brand Partners,” encouraging holistic growth. Chief Guest Mr. Nishant Rathi, Founder & Director of NeoSOFT Technologies and an H.R. alumnus, inspired attendees with his success story and life lessons.

The event included faculty felicitations, release of college publications, induction of The Students’ Council, and engaging performances by the Sindhi Society and Cultural Committee. Various committees—including NSS, Placement Cell, International Programme Committee, and Internal Committee—shared their initiatives and opportunities.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Aaryan Lahori, Joint General Secretary, followed by the National Anthem, marking a motivational start to the academic journey.

Anti-Ragging Campaign 2025–26

Date: 12th – 18th August 2025

The Students’ Council of H.R. College conducted an Anti-Ragging Campaign in accordance with UGC guidelines to promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.

The week-long initiative featured classroom sessions across departments that educated students about the legal and emotional consequences of ragging and emphasized the importance of standing against harassment and bullying. Students were also introduced to H.R. Voice, an anonymous reporting platform ensuring privacy and support for victims.

Anti-ragging messages were circulated through student groups, emails, and notice boards, reinforcing the college’s zero-tolerance policy. A digital poster-making competition further encouraged creativity and awareness, with winners — Anusmriti Paul (1st), Hiral Parmar (2nd), and Amna Khan (3rd) — recognized for their impactful entries.

The campaign received strong participation and positive feedback, successfully spreading awareness and reaffirming H.R. College’s commitment to a safe and respectful learning environment.

Alumni Homecoming 2025

Date: 13th September 2025         Attendees: 300+

The Students’ Council of H.R. College proudly hosted the first-ever Alumni Homecoming 2025, welcoming over 300 alumni back to their alma mater for a day filled with nostalgia, connection, and celebration.

The event featured the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani (President, HSNC Board), Dr. Indu Shahani (Former Principal), and distinguished alumni such as Mr. Nishant Rathi. The day began with a warm welcome, personalized ID cards, and a creative Journey Map Line showcasing the legacy of H.R. College.

Alumni revisited classrooms where over 30 clubs and committees showcased their activities, while the H.R. Virasat Desk encouraged alumni engagement through mentorship, guest lectures, and career support. A dedicated photobooth, memory wall, and interactive games added to the experience.

The celebration concluded at the Butterfly Café, featuring nostalgic food stalls and H.R. merchandise. The event ended on a heartfelt note as alumni received thank-you cards and chocolates as souvenirs.

Guided by the Alumni Association and Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, the event marked a milestone in the college’s history — a day that rekindled memories, strengthened bonds, and celebrated H.R. College’s enduring spirit.

CALLISTO 2025–26

The Students’ Council of H.R. College actively participated in CALLISTO 2025, an intra-collegiate fest organized by the General Event Management Society (GEMS). The event witnessed immense enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork from all participants, reflecting the spirit of collaboration and excellence that defines the Council.

Through their dedication and effort, the team delivered stellar performances across multiple events, ultimately securing the position of 2nd Runner-Up. The success at CALLISTO stands as a testament to the collective hard work, passion, and commitment of the entire Students’ Council, motivating them to strive for even greater accomplishments in the future.

SUNNY SANSKARI KI TULSI KUMARI – MOVIE SCREENING

Date: 9th October 2025          Venue: Metro Inox, Marine Lines         Attendees: 130+ Students

On 9th October 2025, over 130 students from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics attended a special screening of the much-awaited romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari at Metro Inox, Marine Lines. The Presidents and Vice Presidents of both the Junior and Degree Colleges, along with the Students’ Council core members, were part of this exclusive experience.

This memorable opportunity was made possible through the generosity of distinguished alumnus Mr. Abhishek Dhawan, whose thoughtful gesture was met with immense gratitude. The film offered a perfect blend of humor, emotion, and entertainment, keeping the audience thoroughly engaged throughout.

The Students’ Council extended heartfelt thanks to Principal, Prof. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, for her constant support and guidance in making the event a resounding success and a cherished memory for all attendees.

VISIT TO SMT. CHANDIBAI HIMATHMAL MANSUKHANI COLLEGE

Date: 11th October 2025          Venue: Smt. Chandibai Himathmal Mansukhani College, Ulhasnagar         Attendees: 50+ Students

The Students’ Council of H.R. College, along with Principal, Dr. Prof. Pooja Ramchandani, visited Smt. Chandibai Himathmal Mansukhani College for the inauguration of 25 clubs. The event featured Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, President of the HSNC Board, as the chief guest and included insightful addresses by Dr. Manju Lalwani Pathak, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, and Aaryan Lahori, Joint General Secretary of The Students’ Council.

The visit encouraged knowledge exchange, intercollegiate collaboration, and shared learning, reinforcing both colleges’ commitment to student leadership and holistic development.
