Mentoring NAAC Accreditation Aspirant Institutions to promote Quality
Assurance in Higher Education under the UGC scheme ‘Paramarsh’

In order to achieve the objective of improving the quality in Higher Education Institutions, UGC has decided to introduce a new initiative for mentoring the Non-Accredited Institutions, so that every institution can get accreditation by 2022. In view of above a scheme has been designed which provides for Mentoring of Higher Education Institutions by a well performing accredited institutions.

Mentoring institution will facilitate the following

• Training of Faculty and Staff for proper processes, documentation, presentation
• Sharing of knowledge, information and resources,
• Opportunities for research collaboration and faculty development
• Guidance and encouragement to institutions to adopt best practices

H.R. College was the first college in Maharashtra to be accredited 'A' grade with a score of 87.95% by the NAAC (National Assessment & Accreditation Council) under the revised scheme for 2002. In 2008, H.R. College was awarded an 'A' Grade by NAAC once again with a CGPA of 3.46. In 3rd cycle NAAC has awarded H.R. College with a CGPA of 3.72 on a scale of 4, the highest CGPA in India under the revised scheme and the highest score in Maharashtra till date. The College received an extension of validity of Accreditation period from 5 years to 7 years from NAAC as a high performing institution in three consecutive accreditation cycles. The college therefore fulfils one of the key eligibility criterion under the Paramarsh Scheme to mentor the institution in achieving excellence. The college has identified 6 known institutions in Mumbai aspiring for excellence in NAAC. These institutions are:
