MASTERCLASS ON IMPACT OF SHADOW LOANS

3D ANIMATION MASTERCLASS

This masterclass introduced students to the fundamentals of 3D animation, covering essential techniques and creative processes.
Led by industry professionals, the session focused on storytelling, character design, and the animation production pipeline. It encouraged creative exploration while providing practical exposure to animation tools and concepts. MASTERCLASS ON PUBLIC FINANCE AND ECONOMICS

The International Programmes Committee of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics organized an insightful masterclass on Public Finance and Economics in collaboration with the University of Bath, United Kingdom.
The session was conducted by Prof. Louise Brown, Associate Dean at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, and Dr. Michael Stimmelmayr, Senior Lecturer in Economics and Global Finance Expert. The speakers provided a comprehensive overview of fundamental economic concepts, introducing the three core areas of economics—microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics—thereby establishing a strong foundational understanding among participants.
The session further explored advanced areas of economic study, highlighting the diverse scope of the discipline. A key highlight was the discussion on “Why are countries so far apart in terms of living standards?”, where Dr. Stimmelmayr presented empirical evidence and analyzed the factors contributing to global economic disparities.
The speakers also provided insights into studying economics at the University of Bath, emphasizing its applied teaching approach supported by world-class research, along with an overview of its academic structure.
Overall, the masterclass was highly informative and enriched students with valuable academic insights and global perspectives in the field of economics.

WHY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND NOT JUST ECONIMIC GROWTH

The International Programmes Committee of H.R. College welcomed and hosted the Delegates from the University of Bristol, one of the top 10 colleges in the United Kingdom. Prof. Jahir Islam, Lecturer, School of Economics and International Director conducted a Masterclass on ‘Why Economic Development and not Growth?’ The staff and students of the college attended the session.
The delegation comprising, Ms. Natasha Kerven, School International Officer, Ms. Sara Ashman, International Office, and Mr. Devesh Anand, Country Manager interacted with the Vice Principals, Dr. Jasbir Sodhi, Dr. Rani Tyagi and Dr. Navin Punjabi, Dr. Geeta Nair, Professor and Head of Economics Department, Dr. Chandani Bhattacharjee, Director International Initiatives and the students of the International Programs Committee. The meeting was positive and future course of action has been discussed with the delegates.
GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN RESILIENCE MASTERCLASS

The International Programmes Committee of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organized a networking session followed by a master class on Global Supply Chain Resilience.
This session was an enriching one that helped enhance the student’s knowledge of the functioning of a supply chain in all areas of a business or a firm, and the risk associated with it. The session commenced with the speaker Dr. Sumantra Sengupta, Dean of the Business and Management School giving a brief introduction of himself and his background. He went on to elaborate how he has been associated with the global supply chain through several companies he has worked with and explained the importance and relevance of the same. He also introduced the students to the unique concept of ‘job sharing’ practiced by Microsoft.
An MoU was signed between the City University of Seattle and H.R. College during the networking session with Mr. Antonio Esquedo Flores and Dr. Sumantra Sengupta.

INDUSTRY LIFE CYCLE AND DISSRUPTIVE INNOVATION

The International Programs Committee of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics organized an online masterclass on the industry life cycle and disruptive innovation in collaboration with the University of Melbourne.
The event commenced with a concise introduction about the University of Melbourne and our guest speaker Dr. Erica Coslor, Program Director of Masters of Management (Marketing and HR) at the University of Melbourne.
Dr. Coslor educated the participants about the industry life cycle and explained the four stages- the introduction, growth, maturity, and decline stage involved in the evolution of an industry. Dr. Coslor also discussed disruptive innovation and how industries can apply it to evolve and innovate their products.
With the help of a detailed and profound presentation, the participants were able to get a better and clearer understanding of the industry life cycle and disruptive innovation. The event concluded with a questions and answer round which helped to clear all the doubts that the participants had.
THE ECONOMICS OF BITCOIN
September 15, 2021
The IPC organized an online masterclass on the economics of bitcoin in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati.
The event commenced with a concise introduction about our guest speaker Dr. Micheal Jones, Director of Applied Economics at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Jones took the students through the history of bitcoin, explained in detail what bitcoin actually is, what are its advantages, how can one use it, and why is important to know about it. Dr. Jones concluded the presentation by performing an actual trade and discussing various real-life examples. With the help of a detailed and well-articulated presentation, the participants were able to imbibe a better and clearer understanding of Bitcoin.
The event concluded with a question and answer round where all the doubts and queries that the students had were cleared.

BUSINESS GROOMING & ETIQUETTE IN A GLOBAL ENVIRONMENT

The International Programmes Committee organised a MasterClass on Business Grooming and Etiquette with guest speaker Maria Ramstad Kristiansen, Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment at SHL Luzern. SHL Schweizerische Hotelfachschule Luzern is one of the two original Swiss hotel management schools with over 100 years' experience teaching students from around the world in the fine art of Swiss hospitality and management.
Over a 100 students participated in this MasterClass, along with I/C Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and Teacher In-charge Dr. Chandani Bhattacharjee. The webinar kicked off with a welcome speech by Team IPC and speaker introduction by Pushtii, followed by Dr. Ramchandani and Dr. Bhattacharjee addressing those present.
Maria enlightened us with an introduction into the ABC (appearance, behaviour, communication) of business ethics, which can take you a long way in building professional relations. She also spoke about EQ, personality traits, character skills, importance of good clothing, how to build your image in accordance with your company's image and profession, good workplace ethic and behaviour protocol while interacting with professional groups.
This seminar was very informative and all the students definitely imbibed a lot from it.
