Established in March 2024 by the HSNC University in accordance with UGC guidelines, Research Centre for English at HR College of Commerce and Economics offers programmes leading to a Ph.D. degree in English under the faculty of Humanities. The research centre has two recognized Ph. D. guides: Dr. Paromita Chakrabarti, Professor and Head, Department of English; Dr. Geeta Sahu, Professor, Department of English. There are currently four full-time research scholars registered with the centre and two full-time research scholars who have been selected for admission in the academic year 2025-2026. With an intake capacity of 14 scholars (to be increased to 16 scholars) the centre has received recognition for five years and will renew recognition every five years as per the rules of the HSNC University and UGC regulations.
