Session for Non-Teaching Staff – Online Platform Investment Services

The Parents Connect Club, in collaboration with the BFM Committee, organized an interactive session on “Online Platform Investment Services” for non-teaching staff, conducted by Mr. Neelesh Thakur from Motilal Oswal AMC. He explained the basics of financial planning and highlighted how small, regular investments through online platforms can ensure long-term financial security. The session offered practical guidance on using digital investment tools and making informed financial choices. With active participation and real-time query resolution, the session proved highly beneficial in promoting financial awareness and encouraging staff to take steps toward financial independence.

BHN Elder Care Home Visit

Date: February 2, 2025

The Parents Connect Club of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics visited BHN Elder Care Home in Thane, spreading warmth and joy among the elderly residents. Volunteers spent quality time engaging with them through interactive activities such as carrom and musical sessions featuring their favorite songs.

As a gesture of care, essential ration supplies—including rice, atta, sugar, tea, various dals, oil, and a BP, sugar, and pulse-checking machine—were donated. These contributions were made possible through a successful six-day donation drive held at the college, during which generous students and faculty collectively raised approximately ₹7,000.

This initiative not only brought smiles to the faces of the elderly residents but also reinforced the spirit of compassion and community service among the volunteers.

Know Your Children

The Parents Connect Club successfully conducted an online session titled “Know Your Children” on February 8, 2025. Dr. Nidhi Thanawala Valia, the guest speaker, shared valuable insights into understanding children, their perspectives, and behavior.

One of the key takeaways from the session—"Comparison of our children with others is not motivation"—deeply resonated with the audience. Topics covered included trusting your child, understanding their decisions, and respecting their point of view. Dr. Valia also highlighted the concept of the “five-year generation gap,” helping parents better understand how children today are more career-oriented and different from previous generations.

The session was interactive and engaging, enhanced by the use of memes and relatable content. Dr. Valia emphasized the importance of spending quality time with children and reassuring them of their parents' unwavering support. A feedback form was circulated post-session, and parents expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful and insightful discussion.

Reset Your Plate, Reset Your Mind

Date: February 15, 2025

The Parents Connect Club and the SYNC Club of H.R. College hosted an engaging online session titled "Reset Your Plate, Reset Your Mind" on Zoom, exclusively for parents, with 30 attendees.

Renowned speaker Ms. Saloni Kothari—Nutritionist, Life Coach, and NLP Practitioner—shared practical insights on healthy eating habits, stress management through mindful lifestyle choices, and the strong connection between nutrition and mental well-being.

The session emphasized self-care, reinforcing the theme: “A healthy parent means a healthier, happier family.” Conducted in an interactive and relatable format, the session was well-received by parents, who appreciated the valuable takeaways and felt motivated to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

E-Baat Seminar

Date: March 11, 2025

The Parents Connect Club and the Banking and Insurance Committee of H.R. College, in collaboration with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), organized an insightful seminar on Electronic Banking Awareness and Training in Room 12, 4th floor of the college.

RBI representatives—Ms. Priyanka R, Ms. Riya Rani, and Mr. Ravi Tripathi—conducted the session, which aimed to educate students and faculty about the significance of electronic banking and the importance of secure digital transactions.

The seminar covered key topics, including:

  • An introduction to electronic banking
  • Demonstrations of digital payment platforms such as UPI, NEFT, RTGS, and IMPS
  • Cybersecurity and fraud prevention strategies
  • Customer rights and grievance redressal mechanisms

The session concluded with an engaging Q&A, where attendees explored career opportunities in banking. The seminar proved to be highly informative, equipping participants with essential knowledge to navigate the digital financial landscape. EPISODE 1: CLUB INDUCTION

The Parents Connect Club held its first Parent Connect: Episode 1 at H.R. College campus. Parents from different industries and varied employment background were present and engaged in the induction session and demonstrated a willingness to collaborate with the college for creating future partnerships.

The event flow involved welcome speeches, followed by club introductions, opening dance performances, music, and active parent interactions. The session ended with a skit performed by member volunteers and the circulation of parent engagement forms. The students expressed heartfelt appreciation to parents for attending, and to faculty in-charge Mr. Faaiz Patel, for offering and acquainting them with this new opportunity.

Principal’s Birthday Celebration Report

H.R. College Volunteers from PCC, BVOC, IVC, and YTC organized a surprise birthday celebration for Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, led by Clubs – In – Charge, Mr. Faaiz Patel. With contributions from the core committee and volunteers of all four clubs, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani was surprised with a birthday celebration. She was presented with a multilayered cake, a poster board of personalized notes from students, and a decoration of her car with flowers and a birthday banner. The occasion allowed students to acquaint themselves with their Principal and showcase their gratitude to her on her special day. It was a heartwarming and memorable event that showcased the strong bond between the students and their respected leader. Dr. Pooja Ramchandani's genuine surprise and joy upon seeing the cake, the personalized notes, and the beautifully decorated car were evident to everyone present. It was a touching moment as students from different clubs and backgrounds came together to express their gratitude and admiration for her unwavering dedication to the college. This event not only strengthened the sense of community within H.R. College but also highlighted the importance of acknowledging and appreciating the contributions of our leaders and mentors.

ClubFair: Parents Edition Report

The Parents Connect Club hosted another engaging virtual event, the Club Fair Parent Tradition, on November 10th, 2023. The event was a collaboration with five distinguished clubs of our college: SCHR, E-Cell, Placement Cell, IVC, and NSS. Parents from various industries and diverse employment backgrounds actively participated in the session.The flow of the event included welcoming speeches by the club presidents, highlighting each club and its collaborations, exciting games, and dynamic interactions among parents. Our esteemed Principal, Mrs. Pooja Ramchandani, graced the event, uplifting the spirits of all participants with her motivating words. Approximately 100 parents from HR College joined the event. The club members expressed their gratitude to the participating parents and acknowledged the support of the faculty in charge, Mr. Faaiz Patel, for his continuous assistance. Additionally, a feedback form was circulated to the parents via WhatsApp for their input.
