INCOME TAX WEBINAR

Accountancy Association and the Foundation for Skill Development organised a Tax Webinar on June 30, 2023. Its core aim was to enhance understanding of income tax concepts. CA Harit Dhariwal's discourse covered Form 26 AS/AIS/TIS intricacies, ITR filing checklist, income tax return forms, and AY 2023 - 24's ITR Forms. Interactive segments addressed queries on income heads, TDS/TCS, and the innovative tax scheme for cryptocurrencies.

The webinar explored former and current ITR forms, giving insights into the income tax filing portal, Form 26AS's relevance, AIS vs. SFT reporting, and crucial ITR filing changes for AY 2023 - 24. Concluding reflections stressed adaptability, with CA Hiral Shah discussing ethical skill enhancement. Attendees' appreciation resonated, culminating with a formal vote of thanks.

DECODING BALANCE SHEET FROM TRIAL BALANCE WEBINAR

Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in collaboration with Foundation for Skill Development organized a webinar on Decoding Balance Sheet from Trial Balance in excel with CA Jatin Chheda as the main speaker for the session.

The webinar delved into utilizing Excel’s diverse formulas, functions, tricks and tools to extract meaningful insights from balance sheets that will help make sound decisions in their daily lives. This webinar proved to be a huge success as a lot of attendees were educated and enriched with the knowledge of Excel and Trial Balances.

Students pursuing their articleship and working professionals were a part of the audience. Participants were also shared the material presented during this interactive webinar.

IMPLEMENTING E-INVOICE IN TALLY PRIME

Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in collaboration with Foundation for Skill Development hosted an insightful webinar on Mastering the Step-by-Step Guide of Implementing E-Invoice in Tally Prime. The speaker, CA Punit Mehta with over 20 years of software expertise, specialized as a Tally Evangelist initiated with the basics & misconceptions about E-Invoice, followed by the requirements for E-Invoicing and generating the same in Tally Prime.

Mr. Mehta highlighted it’s benefits to businesses and government/GSTIN as well as addressed the frequently asked questions regarding the topic. The webinar was concluded by the encouraging words of our Principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani ma’am and faculty-in-charge Ms. Anjali Vachhani and a formal vote of thanks.

SECURED WEALTH SEMINAR

The Accountancy Association orchestrated a captivating event with Mr. Kamal Jeswani as the distinguished keynote speaker. Mr. Kamal Jeswani is an International TED-X speaker and he is India’s 1st internationally certified financial Success Coach. The core aim of the session was to decode complex financial concepts and simplify finance. It was specially organized for the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Mr. Kamal’s strategic counsel underscored the necessity of aligning assets with specific financial goals. His insights extended to resource management, advocating for the pragmatic inclusion of insurance, especially for those with limited means. A visually compelling chart illuminated the intricate dynamics of safety, returns, and liquidity, providing a practical decision-making framework. The Q&A session showcased Mr. Kamal's expertise, addressing inquiries on property investment and gold bonds.

Overall, HR College's Accountancy Association event emerged as a concise yet comprehensive nexus of financial wisdom and professional networking, with Mr. Kamal Jeswani's expertise standing out as a cornerstone of the session.

VISIT TO OLD AGE HOME

January 6, 2024         Attendees: 15

The Accountancy Association of HR College visited Vatsalyadrushti Foundation, an old age home in Charkop, Kandivali on January 6, 2024, to celebrate the New Year with the elderly people in the old age home.

Vatsalya Drishti Foundation housed around 25 elders, many of whom were diagnosed with multiple ailments. The team of the Accountancy Association engaged in various fun activities such as singing and dancing with the patients, which brought immense joy to them.

Contributions from the core members of the Accountancy Association along with help from teacher-in-charge Professor Anjali Vachhani Ma’am were able to raise ₹6,000 in donations, and on request of the home provided them with various groceries and sweets.

It was a humbling experience for all of the students, making them more grateful and appreciative. The elders at the old age home too were appreciative of the students and gave their blessings to each one of them.

ARTICLESHIP 101- PANEL DISCUSSION

January 21, 2024         Attendees: 60

The Accountancy Association of HR College organized an online panel discussion named "Articleship 101" on 21st January 2024, to provide clarity and guidance to CA students, regarding various facets of articles and the CA profession as a whole.

The panelists included 4 diverse speakers, namely Tulika Jalan, Pranjal Mudra, Ashutosh Sharma, and CA Parthiv Chhabria, each belonging to different fields and having varied experiences in their CA journey. Vice Principal Dr. Navin Punjabi also graced the session and interacted with the speakers and the audience. During the session, which lasted for a couple of hours, several topics like "Big 4 vs mid-sized firms", industrial training, and preparation tips for CA Final among others were touched upon. Harsh Murarka, the President of the Accountancy Association, put forth a series of relevant questions and common concerns, which were satisfactorily answered by the panelists. This was followed by a Q&A session, wherein the audience was able to get their specific queries and doubts resolved. The webinar ended with a vote of thanks and was indeed a success, owing to the panelists' efforts coupled with the enthusiasm of all participants.

Income Tax Certificate Course

February 12, 2024 - February 23, 2024         Attendees: 57

The Accountancy Association of H.R. College, in collaboration with the Foundation for Skill Development (FSD), organized a Certificate Course on Income Tax from 12th February 2024 to 23rd February 2024.

The Foundation for Skill Development (FSD) is an organization committed to spreading knowledge and educating people regarding various aspects of the system of taxation in India. The duration of the course was approximately 33 hours, bifurcated into 3-hour sessions conducted online over 11 days at a nominal fee of Rs 1000.

The course began with an opening ceremony, graced by the Principal of H.R. College, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, and the teacher-in-charge of the club, Prof. Anjali Vachhani. CA Aalok Mehta, President of the Foundation for Skill Development, CA Hiral Shah, and CA Ashok Mehta were also present in the ceremony. The dignitaries shared their thoughts, gave speeches, and welcomed all the attendees to the course. The ceremony was hosted by the Vice President of the Accountancy Association, Ms. Angelin Chetty.

HR ACHIEVERS’ PANEL

The Accountancy Association organized the HR Achievers’ Panel, a panel discussion with its esteemed alumni brand ambassadors as the guest speakers: CA Meet Shah AIR 1, CA Kinal Kothari AIR 4, CA Nandish Parekh AIR 37, CA Hetvi Shah AIR 40, and CA Anmol Adukia AIR 49 who had set high benchmarks with their achievements.

The speakers narrated their experiences of preparation and the strategies adopted to crack the CA Final exams. They also shared other insightful tips and tricks related to preparations for exams and lastly left an inspiring impression with their hard work and outstanding achievement.

WEBINAR ON REAL ESTATE

The Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics had successfully organised an insightful webinar on ‘Reality of the Real Estate business in India and Opportunities in this Field’ by Vinod Thakar.

Real Estate started developing in 1986 to 1989 when the prices doubled and investment flourished. Dr. Manmohan Singh's neoliberal economic policy in 1991 had a positive impact on real estate investments. Lockdown brought down the pricing by 25% but it has recovered again. Real estate sector can be worth 1 trillion dollars by 2030.

WEBINAR ON STATUTORY AUDIT

Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organised a webinar titled “Statutory Audit” from CA Aditya Mishra. He is the Founder & Strategist of multiple startups private limited companies & professional associations.

Some of the key takeaways from the webinar were:

  • A statutory audit is a legally required review of the accuracy of a company's or government's financial statements and records.
  • Firms that are subject to audit include public companies, banks, brokerage and investment firms, and insurance companies.
  • Being subject to a statutory audit is not an indication of anything gone wrong.

The Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics successfully organised a webinar on ‘Personal Finance’ from Mr. Ketan Karkhanis, the Senior Vice President at ICICI SECURITIES. Currently head of Digital Client Acquisition and Co-Head of New Solutions Group he is also Head of Marketing and Brand at ICICI Securities Ltd. Some of the key takeaways from the webinar were: The power of compounding is immense and one must start investing early to gain maximum benefits. Stay away from unqualified advisors, mutual funds investment is preferable for beginners.

Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organised a webinar on “CONSULTING” from Ms. Mahima Goel, Chartered Accountant with Articleship experience with Ernst & Young. She is currently working with Bain & Co in Management Consulting, on varied cases from diverse sectors.

The key takeaways of the webinar were:

  • Management Consulting offers you opportunities to get cases from a lot of sectors and understand a lot of industries.
  • The ideal CV should have a balance of academics as well as extra-curricular activities.
  • The recruitment process involves CV shortlisting followed by a case study interview for which ample of preparation time is provided.
  • Consulting requires you to think on your feet and solve problems in a structured and rational manner.
COLLABORATION WITH VISION CA

The Accountancy Association collaborated with Vision CA. Vision CA is India's first and largest free mentoring program run by 250+ passionate Chartered Accountants. Through this collaboration, Accountancy Association seeks to provide access to a CA community, doubt solving sessions and mentorship absolutely free exclusively for H.R. College students. This community consists of students from all 3 levels of CA namely, Foundation, Intermediate and Final.

INVESTING IN YOUR 20s
October 28, 2021

Mr. Anmol Sharma, financial educator and co-founder of Finlight, a media company providing content services on every major social media channel.

Mr. Anmol Sharma discussed the significance of making investments in our lives. When made at the right time and age, investments can yield incredible returns in the future. The beauty of compounding was explained to the entire audience, and everyone benefited greatly from his knowledge. Stock markets, mutual funds, cryptocurrency, gold, and other financial possibilities were among the topics he discussed. The presentation included multiple examples for simple comprehension!

The session concluded with an interactive question and answer session. He answered all the questions politely and ensured everyone's doubts were answered. The participation and zest seen in the students throughout the seminar were impressive. A total of 50+ students benefitted from the webinar.

ICE BREAKER
October 28, 2021

An Ice Breaker with the newly recruited students of the college was held to ensure that everyone in the association bonded with each other. Simple games of Dumb Charades, Pictionary, etc. were played among the members. All the members interacted with each other and understood the working of the Association. Few students even showcased their talents of playing guitar, singing, etc.

VISION CA
December 2, 2021

Vision CA is a program launched by the efficient Alumni (Pruthvi Mashurwalla and his team) of our very own H. R. College that facilitates all the CA aspirants by providing mentorship to them. Accountancy Association collaborated with Vision CA to help out the students in HR College who are aspiring chartered accountants. Vision CA forms WhatsApp groups of aspiring CAs with the professionals and ensures proper doubt solving of various queries, conducts test series, webinars with CAs, etc. to guide the students in the right direction. 100+ students of H.R. College ended up benefitting from the program for their upcoming December 2021 CA exams.

ICE BREAKER 2.0
January 23, 2022

We conducted yet another Ice Breaker with the association members to bond better and learn a little more about each other. This time, we had a Bollywood quiz with a twist for fun!! We also played a few rounds of Taboo and it was commendable how uniquely everyone explained the words assigned to them.

'STOCK MARKET BASICS AND LIVE TRADING' – ASHWIN DHANESHA
February 6-7, 2022

Mr. Ashwin Dhanesha, the speaker of the session, divided the entire session into 2 parts where on Day 1, he taught us the basic terms of stock markets and cleared all our doubts related to the topic. The main focus of this session was on terms related to trading than Investing.

On Day 2 of the session, we learned live trading in the stock markets. The second session was carefully planned during the stock market hours to learn how actual markets work. Everyone enjoyed the session and learned a lot from it.

CERTIFICATE COURSE ON GST
February 22 to March 19, 2022

Accountancy Association of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics organised a Certificate Course on GST in association with THE GOODS AND SERVICES TAX PRACTITIONERS' ASSOCIATION OF MAHARASHTRA. A total of 12 sessions over four weeks were conducted starting February 22, 2022, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS
August 20, 2020

Mr. Girish Vanvari, a CA with a specialization in M&As; started the session by explaining how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the global economy and what its impact has been on business valuations. He taught students about the various drivers, causes, and effects of M&As and explained the various reasons as to why companies merge with other companies. Later, he gave some real-life examples of the M&A deals, such as the Flipkart – Walmart deal and the HUL – GSK deal, which made the webinar even more interesting. The webinar was highly informative and engaging.

FINANCIAL PLANNING
September 16, 2020

Mr. Rishabh Adukia, an experienced finance professional with a demonstrated history of working in the investment banking industry. Mr. Adukia explained why financial planning is so important in one’s life and how it helps individuals and families strategically maximize their assets to reach their financial goals. He also explained the subcomponents of financial planning which are investment planning, insurance planning, and retirement planning.

Mr. Adukia talked about the risk-return relationship and the various investment options that an investor has, such as FDs, real estate, gold, mutual funds and equities. He spoke about how important it is to start investing from a young age and gave Warren Buffet’s example i.e. how investing from a young age played a crucial part in his journey to become a billionaire. The webinar was interesting and concluded with a Q/A session.
