GEMS promotes the holistic development of students and inculcates managerial skills among them. The club plays a key role in the individual growth of each student.
It helps in organising the Annual Prize Distribution, Bazaar an annual event where students put up stalls to develop entrepreneurship skills and organize a Christmas party every year for underprivileged children.

AHAAN’25 – Social Initiative
Dates: July 7–19, 2025 | Attendees: 50
The General Event Management Society conducted AHAAN’25, a campaign supporting individuals with Thalassemia in partnership with Sankalp India Foundation. A donation drive was held on- and off-campus, raising ₹1,53,327 while spreading awareness about the challenges and costs of treatment. The initiative marked a meaningful step toward the society’s commitment to impactful social causes.
Callisto 2025 – Report
September 14–16, 2025
Callisto 2025, the flagship fest, spanned three days of competitions and cultural activities with participation from 24 clubs. The event featured a ceremonial opening with Aarti and trophy unveiling, followed by competitions across management, performing arts, and creative challenges such as Strangelove's Council, Rajneeti, Beyond the Gavel, and Dark Side of the Moon. Judged by industry experts including Melvin Louis, Ishika Bhargava, and Gaurav Alugh, the FIC X BAMMC Committee secured first place, Public Speaking and Debating Society came second, and the Students’ Council finished third. The fest celebrated talent, teamwork, and community engagement, marking a successful and inspiring event.

The General Event Management Society successfully hosted its inaugural event, AHAAN, from July 25th to July 31st, focusing on supporting acid attack survivors. In collaboration with the Sahaas Foundation, founded by Mrs. Daulat Bi Khan in 2016, the event included a donation drive both within and outside the college. A dedicated desk was set up daily from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM to collect contributions aimed at funding surgeries for acid attack victims facing financial challenges.
The event also featured an impactful Instagram live session with Mrs. Daulat Bi Khan, who shared her inspiring journey as an acid attack survivor. The session resonated deeply with the audience.
In total, ₹1,35,462 was raised through donations, marking the event as a significant success. The General Event Management Society looks forward to organizing more social initiatives in the future to support those in need.

The General Event Management Society hosted its inaugural event, AHAAN, from July 25th to July 31st, focusing on supporting acid attack survivors in collaboration with the Sahaas Foundation, founded by Mrs. Daulat Bi Khan. A poignant Instagram live session with Mrs. Khan further highlighted the cause and touched many hearts. Overall, AHAAN was a success, and the Society looks forward to future initiatives to support those in need.
Callisto 2024 Report
September 28, 29 & October 1
Callisto 2024, the flagship event of the General Event Management Society, unfolded over three dynamic days filled with creativity, competition, and camaraderie. The festivities kicked off with a culturally rich opening ceremony featuring a traditional worship of deities, an Aarti, and the unveiling of trophies, all blessed by our esteemed principal. This spiritual beginning set a positive tone for the event.
The festival attracted participation from approximately 17 clubs, showcasing a vibrant spirit of collaboration. Day 1 included four exciting events: Rajneeti, Camera.Sketch.Action, Gate to Success, and The Ultimate Gem, all concluding with enthusiastic feedback from participants.
Day 2 highlighted the Turf Event at Cooperage Turf, along with classroom events Sell-a-thon and LP10, further fostering community spirit and competition.
On the final day, events like TORTS Illustrated combined intellect with artistry, while performances in Prada O Nada and The Wicked Showdown captivated the audience, showcasing diverse talents. A distinguished panel of judges, including Mr. Asif Merchant, Saragam Koushal, Vinit Jain, and Vivaan Parashar, lent credibility to the judging process.
The Public Speaking and Debating Society (PSDS) secured 1st place, followed by the BMS Committee as the first runner-up and the Investment Club of H.R. College (ICHR) in third.
The closing ceremony was filled with reflections on the bonds forged and the collective efforts behind the fest's success. Overall, Callisto 2024 was a celebration of talent, teamwork, and community spirit, and the General Event Management Society looks forward to continuing this tradition in future editions.
Christmas Party

The General Event Management Society (GEMS) organized a Christmas party for 42 children and 3 staff members from the Foster Care Group, Worli. The event aimed to spread joy and festive cheer through fun activities, entertainment, and meaningful interactions.
The committee members hosted games like Fire in the Mountain, drawing, and dancing. They also performed a dance set, while Santa Claus and the mascot, Gogo, made special appearances, adding excitement to the celebration. A delicious meal was served, and each child received gifts and goodies to make their day extra special.

The General Event Management Society of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics successfully hosted AHAAN, a social initiative aimed at raising funds for cancer patients and survivors in collaboration with the Indian Cancer Society. The generous contributions exceeded Rs. 4.5 lakhs. These funds will be utilised to support various initiatives such as raising awareness, providing treatment to patients and conducting screening tests.
In addition to the fundraising efforts, the core team of GEMS organised several activities throughout the month of July.

The Department of Commerce along with General Event Management Club (GEMS) conducted a 40 Hr Event Management Certificate programme. The certificate programme had an enrolment of 26 students from various streams of H.R. College. The course was conducted by Mr. Pradeep Gidwani a known wedding planner and event planner. The course had three session per week which began from August 1, 2023 to August 31, 2023.
Callisto’23 Report
October 1 - 3, 2023
This report provides an overview of Callisto’23, GEMS’s inta-collegiate fest. In the 4th edition, Callisto provides a dynamic platform for our talented students to shine. This year the theme was Harmony in Chaos, which captures the order in the midst of disorder. Callisto was held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October 2023.
The first day had several events in various categories. The day started with the sports event at the Mahalaxmi Turf. This was followed by the improv and mono acting event.
The second day was filled with management and informal events. Stalls were set up in college and participants flocked to check them out.
The last day of Callisto was held in college and the KC Auditorium. The day started with the Literary Art and Fine art events and was followed by What Thumka? And Symphony Sangam, our dance and singing event. The events were judged by some known personalities like Neeraj Yadav and Amit Sinha. The auditorium was packed and everyone enjoyed the atmosphere before the closing ceremony in which the results were announced.

The General Event Management Society continued with their annual tradition and hosted a Christmas Party on the 23rd of December 2023, for the children of the Foster Care Group, Worli. The core planned some fun activities for the children, along with a skit and dance. A few students from our college itself came and performed a few songs for the children. One of the core members dressed up as Santa and interacted with the children. Food and gifts were handed over to all the children by the core. The event was graced by the Junior college Teacher In Charge, Kirti ma’am.

The General Event Management Society organized the most colorful and the most memorable Intra-Collegiate Flea Market of H.R. College of Commerce and Economics – Bazaar'24. Each club had set up different stalls, selling different items like accessories, cakes, snacks, etc. The Bazaar went on from 10 am to 5 pm. Students came in from different clubs to buy goodies from the various stalls. There were about 16 stalls in total, which included the club stalls as well as a few external stalls. We consider ourselves lucky to have our very own Junior college teachers, Anupama and Anuradha Ma’am as our Judges who evaluated the stalls on various criteria.

The General Event Management Society conducted their social initiative - AHAAN. A donation drive was held to improve the living conditions of the underserved students of the Kaman Tribal School in the district of Naigaon. The donations received in cash crossed Rs. 4 Lakhs. Apart from cash, clothes, stationary, etc. were also collected. Sleeping mats were also provided to the students. The primary aim of the donation drive was to collect funds to conduct repair work for the school. The core team reached the school at 01:15 PM and planned an eventful day full of games like dodgeball, tug of war, relay, and craft activities such as origami paper planes with the children. The event was a huge success and GEMS hopes to conduct many such drives in the future.

The General Event Management Society hosted a Christmas Party for the students of The Foster Care Group, Worli. The party was conducted in college. The students came in at 11:00 AM, accompanied by 4 of their teachers and were welcomed by the members of the club with music to which they danced to their hearts’ content.
They were greeted by Santa Claus, who distributed sweets among the children followed by an interactive session with the Principal, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani and the faculty in-charge, Dr. Rita Khatri. Students also enjoyed a live music performance. The members of the GEMS club addressed the students, thanked them for coming, and gave them gifts and food.
INTRACOLLEGIATE ORGANISED
CALLISTO 2022

The General Event Management Society organized Intra-Collegiate Festival of H.R. College- Callisto’22. The theme for the third edition of Callisto was MULTIVERSE. Numerous events were conducted over 3 days and a total of 16 clubs participated this year.
The pre-event for the fest was held at an arcade in Andheri - “Shott”. Callisto witnessed events ranging from football to a moot court event called “Torts Illustrated”, to a business management event, lastly to an improv event “Autoschediasm”.
The final day consisted of “Step up” - a groovy and fun dance event followed by the closing ceremony where the winners were announced. There was a total of 11 events, the highlight being the flagship event “The Last Hour” which was an escape room event.
Students from various clubs came forward and exhibited their talents along with broadening their knowledge, making new connections and creating memories. The fest was a huge success.
THE BEAUTIFUL GAME

The Beautiful Game was a sports event in which there were 5 participants in one team. It was an all-boys event in which one team had to score a goal in the opponent’s team’s net. It was an offline event.

First Foot Forward was a corporate pitching event in which there was 1 participant per team. In this event the participant had to pitch their product to the judge. Participants had to be innovative and set foot to be an entrepreneur.

Rajneeti was an event on politics. There were 4 participants in each team. Each team had to put forward their ‘Mann ki Baat’ leading the world to a better path. They had to make a powerful slogan for their campaign.

Autoschediasm was a comic improv event. There were 4 participants in one team. Each team had to do improv in which they had to build a story according to the situation given to them using only a specific number of words and then using different accents.

Paint a Tale was a 2-person event in which one participant had to recite a story and the other had to paint the story on paper. The participants had to portray their story through their work of art. It was an offline event.

Torts Illustrated was a courtroom-based event in which each team had 2 participants. In this event, one team was on the opposition side and the other team was on the proposition side and there was a judge. The two teams had to argue on a topic.

The Sound of Music was a singing event. There were 3 participants in each team. Each team had to sing their song live and use at least one instrument compulsory in their performance. It was an offline event.

Step Up was a dancing event. Each team had 6-10 participants. Each team had to put on a dance performance on the stage using the songs of the famous singers assigned to them.

T3 - The Test Time
July 31 & August 1, 2021GEMS hosted its first edition of “T3 - The Test Time” as an Intra Collegiate event. More than 18 Clubs, 19 Contingents, and 38 Participants competed against each other to win the podium of T3. It was an intensely competitive and engaging Trivia competition. Contingents were quizzed on a variety of subjects, including general knowledge, academics, and even memes.
July 31, 2021The day started with the Opening ceremony in the presence of the Principal Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, Contingent Leaders, Assistant Contingent Leaders, Participants, and the entire Core Committee. The Principal addressed the participants and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee in her opening speech. The opening ceremony was followed by the Elimination round of the event. The elimination round was a rapid-fire round. There was also a President's round that was a thrilling surprise element.
August 1, 20218 contingents qualified for the final round. The contingents were given lifelines such as 50:50, Audience poll, Switch the category and Switch the person in this round. The final round ended with great enthusiasm and the competitive spirit of all the participants.
GEMSTONE
September 4, 2021Conducted a webinar titled “GEMSTONE” on Event Management with Mr. Gaston D' Souza, a Corporate Trainer, Motivational Speaker, Compere, Event Host, Anchor, and Event Planner. He is the Founder of an Event Management company named 'Gaston D' Souza Inc.' located in Mumbai.
The webinar began with our hosts introducing our guest speaker who then went on to take the stage as he introduced himself and narrated various anecdotes from his life, explaining his experiences of organising and managing several events. He touched upon the 5 components of Event Management which include, Research and Goal Setting, Designing the event, Branding, Coordination on the day of planning, and Exhibition of the event. He guided the students and showed them the importance of effective communication using the acronym HOT (Honest, Open, Two-way Communication)
As the hosts opened the floor to questions, Mr. Gaston happily went on to answer each one of them and made sure no doubt remained and constantly encouraged students to capitalize on their strengths and improvise on their weaknesses.
FOCUS - A MICRO PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION
October 23, 2021GEMS organized a Micro Photography Competition for budding photographers. It is the vision, creativity, and art of a person behind the cameras who does absolute justice by capturing the beauty of this world.
There were 60+ entries for this event, each one enhancing the competition level. Mr. Fenil Shah, a very prominent personality was the judge of the event.

CALLISTO: A CELESTIAL PHENOMENON
November 26 - 28, 2021Amidst the pandemic, while the world is opening up again, GEMS organised the second edition of a three-day hybrid (online and offline) intra-collegiate fest called 'CALLISTO' which included a total of 10 events within the three days for the clubs of HR College. The various events were as follows:
THE CELESTIAL CROWN
November 27, 2021The first-ever edition of The Celestial Crown was conducted online via Zoom. This fun-filled event is a platform for the participants to showcase their personality, speaking skills, confidence, and talent.
For the eliminations, the participants were required to send in their talent videos according to which they were judged.
The 16 qualified participants moved on to round 1 which was a surprise round. They spun the wheel to decide their question number and were presented with the respective question. The participants were given 1 min of preparation time. The 10 qualified participants moved on to the final round, Round 2. In this round, the participants strutted the ramp to the snippet of the song shared the previous day that was followed by Q&A by the judge. The song chosen was ‘This Is What You Came For’ - Calvin Harris, Rihanna. They were judged based on their outfit relevance to the theme - Masquerade Ball, ramp walk, and Q&A.

Torts Illustrated was an event organised to test the debating and problem-solving skills of the students. Participants were required to emulate a lawyer and to make the best argument possible to either set their client free or put a criminal behind bars.
Torts Illustrated eliminations and Semi-finals were conducted online. The Finals were held offline on the second day in the 5th Conference Room at H.R. College. The room was set up like a moot courtroom with witness boxes. The two finalists even dressed the part and were given lawyers+ robes. The unique element in this round was that the prosecution and defense got a chance to question a panel of witnesses from the case. There were two judges for the final round; one of which was a Bombay High Court lawyer!
THE BRAINY GEM
November 28, 2021The brainy gem was the flagship event of Callisto'21. It was inspired by a World famous board game. Participants had to use their strategies very wisely to win the game. It was a three-hour-long game but everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The competition was very fierce and in the end, there were three winners.
AUTOSCHEDIASM
November 28, 2021Autoschediasm was an improv event where participants were given a topic on the spot with variations. This event had 2 rounds and the second round had a surprise element.
RAJNEETI
November 26, 2021Rajneeti was a political event where all contingents presented themselves as political parties, competed against each other, and campaigned over various social topics to be the ruling party.
In Round 1, teams were introduced and their objectives as a political party were stated and judged based on a voting system. In round 2, parties were given a social topic to campaign with 20 mins of preparation time. After completion of their campaigns, each team asked one question to the other party. Teams were judged based on their campaign and question & answer.
MARKETING GEEK
November 18, 2021Marketing Geek was a surprise spin-the-wheel event hosted online. The first round was a trivia quiz that was based on brands and companies. 8 teams qualified for the finals where 3 wheels were spun giving each team the components, based on which they had to prepare a presentation in the next 30 minutes. Each team then had 5 minutes to pitch their idea to the judges, and the team with the best idea, creativity, and innovation won the event.
MIDDAY MEDLEY
November 26, 2021Midday Medley was an online singing competition comprising two rounds. The singers competed with more than just their vocals. Midday Medley participants performed a medley of songs based on words assigned to them.
PANACHE
November 26, 2021Panaché was the fashion and styling event of Callisto'21. In round 1, participants were required to replicate a famous look of a fashionable fictional character allotted to them. In round 2, participants were allotted a situation and a mandatory item. The participants were required to dress according to the situation while also inculcating the mandatory item.
WICKED WICKETS
November 27, 2021Wicked Wickets was a cricket event organised on turf at NSCI in Worli. Every participating contingent was required to form a team of 6+1 players. Out of the 16 contingents that participated in the League Stage, 2 contingents qualified for Round 4 – Finals. The best contingent won the winner’s trophy.
CURL IT IN
November 27, 2021Curl It In was a football event organised on turf in Worli. Every participating contingent was required to form a team of 5+1 players. Round 1 was a League Stage where 16 contingents competed against each other. 8 of them qualified for Round 2: Knockout Stage, 4 of the skilled contingents moved forward to Round 3: Semifinals, and 2 contingents qualified for Round 4: Finals. The best contingent won the winner's trophy.

February 20, 2022GEMS of H.R. College of Commerce hosted an Instagram Live Session with the esteemed Dr. Anjali Kumar (MBBS, MD) who is a senior gynecologist, high-risk pregnancy expert, and sexual health spokesperson.
Dr. Anjali spoke about her area of work, stressed the importance of ending the stigma surrounding sexual health, and encouraged the students to educate themselves and know and speak more openly about it.

November 28-29, 2020General Event Management Society organised a first of its kind two day virtual intra-collegiate fest called 'CALLISTO' for the esteemed clubs of HR College, with an aim to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talent, skill and wit via a plethora of competitions. The various events were as follows:
WEBINAR - Mr. Sanchayan Bhattacharjee, a renowned journalist currently working as a manager at the Jio Institute, organized a webinar on 'Busting Myths about Journalism' - 33 Participants.
TORTS ILLUSTRATED - an event organized to test debating and problem solving skills of the students. Participants were required to emulate a lawyer and to make the best argument possible, to either set their client free or put a criminal behind bars - 23 Participants.
TRIVIALOGY - a quiz based event with some twists and turns. The event had one elimination round with two phases. Categories for the quiz were My city, My state, Finance, Economics, Sports and Current affairs - 66 Participants.
THE DILEMMA - an event based on Social Issues prevailing in our society. This event revolved around checking the participants' adaptability with social issues. Participants were required to come up with creative solutions to tackle social issues provided to them - 42 Participants.
EFIMERIS - a journalism based event, which had 2 rounds. Participants submitted a newspaper with 2 articles in round 1 while in round 2 they emulated news anchors - 14 Participants.
AUTOSCHEDIASM - an improv event where participants were given a topic on the spot, with variations. This event had 2 rounds where the second round also had a surprise element - 48 Participants.

CHASE 2019
August 9 & 10, 2019Chase is an annual treasure hunt event held by the General Event Management Society of H.R. College. The main goal of the event is to build teamwork and the spirit of participation among the participants and organising committee. Each year, newly admitted freshers of the junior and degree college participate in the event in huge numbers and display their intellect and problem-solving skills through this activity.
AHAAN 2019 - A Ray of Hope
November 15 & 17, 2019Ahaan - a Ray of Hope, is an initiative by the General Event Management Society, to reach out to the underprivileged part of the society by raising funds and channelizing them for the benefit of such people. This year, with the help of PRAABHU NAYAN FOUNDATION, a 2-day social event was held, where members gave a helping hand in organizing a sports day for the physically challenged and the abandoned children of the farmers.

CHRISTMAS 2019
December 20 & 24, 2019G.E.M.S celebrated Christmas with Sind Modern High School students on December 20. On December 24 the celebration was with the Foster Group children in the college. G.E.M.S. has been organizing the Christmas Party for the Foster Group Children for many years now.
On both mornings many games were played, with no room for boredom. Presents were given to winners of the games, followed by cutting of the cake along with their teacher in-charge. The kids then happily danced their hearts out to Bollywood tunes. Santa Claus made a grand appearance and gave the children their presents and sweets. The children enjoyed the event with our members with much enthusiasm. A package of food with snacks and a drink was relished by all the kids. After a few fun-filled hours, the kids waved goodbye with wide smiles on their faces. Overall, it was a very 'Merry' Christmas for everyone.
