SPORTS COUNCIL REPORT 2009-2010
Members of Sports Council were a part of the Ambassadors for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics. The Golden Jubilee celebrations consisted of the “Alumni Homecoming” on September 5, 2009 which was followed by the main celebration at the “Trident Hotel” on September 17,2009.
Sports Council of H.R. College organized the Inter-Collegiate Squash Tournament in collaboration with the University of Mumbai on November 10 & 11, 2009 at Police Gymkhana, Marine Drive, Mumbai. Two HR Squash players, Laxman Joshi and Cyrus Vakil took the 1st and 2nd positions respectively in the tournament.
The FYJC members of Sports Council were a part of the organizing team for
the Punj Lloyd “PSA Masters Cup”, 2009 (International Squash Tournament) from December 5 - 10,2009 at Bombay Gymkhana, Marine Lines, Mumbai. The event featured the top ranked Squash players of the world and was a great learning experience for SPORTS COUNCIL REPORT 2009-2010 All India Inter University Squash Championship FIRST PRIZE (WINNERS) AT HARIDWAR Laxman Joshi and Kunwar Pal Singh of HR College, S.Y.B.Com. Cyrus Vakil was also part of the winning team the young students as well as an exposure for the Sports Council of H.R. College of Commerce & Economics.
Sports Council of H.R. College organized the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics Annual Sports Day on January 4, 2010 at the University Sports Pavilion, Marine Lines, Mumbai. The event was a success with students from all classes / courses participating in various track and field events.
From February 4 - 6, Sports Council launched the new “Fun-Games” event of SPORTS FIESTA at H.R.College. It was a new eventsponsored by “IVY Sports” and “Rockstah Media”. The event was organized by the FYJC members of the Sports Council for the FYJC students of the College. It was a huge success and will be a recurring event for years to come.
