ROTARACT CLUB OF H.R. COLLEGE began its journey this year on 1st July, 2009, with a passionate new President - Rtr. Chirag Tekchandaney and an enthusiastic Board of Directors.
The Club started off with a RECRUITMENT DRIVE at the beginning of the year in full swing and alsoorganized a welcoming FRESHER'S DAY for the new FYJC's.
The month of July witnessed several projects like DREAMS ON WHEELS - An open Bus Ride with the underprivileged children from the institute of Anand Kendra, a thrilling Mumbai Drashan.
MANAGEMENT GAMES for the beginners of College and a Professional Development Project named the PRESIDENT IS COMING where a Hypothetical situation was created to make the members learn crisis management assuming the president was coming to the city and loads of hurdles were to be handled.
The month of August was full of fun. Several projects were undertaken like
THE NIGHT OF THE CHAMPION where the incoming President and Board were installed. Our installation ceremony witnessed an attendance of 333 people, at SUN & SAND where we had fun beach games which acted as the ice breaker for the new recruits and was witnessed by 193 members, FIESTA where the General Body Members were divided into 6 groups who represented 6 countries and showcased their cuisine, dance, fashion show and a PowerPoint presentation. We saw a participation of almost 173 members and GANESHUSTAV where we bought Eco Friendly Lord Ganesh home and with a grand visarjan promoted the concept of being eco-friendly.
September witnessed projects like CHOCOLATE WEEK where we celebrated an entire chocolicious week with the highest number of dedications ever- 1947 dedications, RANG DE which was a Drawing and Colouring competition for the Underprivileged and the Deaf and Mute children. These pictures are to be framed and sold to Rotarians of various clubs. INTERACT SYMPOSIUM small interactors were exposed to a orientation programme in order to build good future rotaractors. WE ARE THE WORLD saw 22 schools with over 3000 participants competing in an international extravaganza for two days.
October saw projects like UTSAV where ROTARACT CLUB OF H.R. COLLEGE we celebrated the Festival of Navratri with the children of Victoria Memorial school for Blind. With PROJECT IT the club tried to instill organizational skills amongst members through this one project where minutes were days and hours were months. PARENTS NITE saw interaction with parents of the new recruits and made them aware of the work the club undertakes.
November was an exciting month with projects like EXPLORING INDIA where 50 enthusiastic RCHR’ites Roamed the Royal Rajasthan. We also interacted and conducted projects with the Rotaract Clubs of Jaipur City and Jaipur Main. The GOLDEN JUBILEE PROM NITE witnessed over 1200 Glamorous personalities under one roof at the posh Dragonfly dancing away to the glorious tunes of the DJ. MASQUERADE An inter-school dramatics competition witnessed about 5 schools showcasing their acting skills. In JAANE TU YA JAANE NA 66 Interact Students competed in the ever so popular Antakshari Competition!
The winters of December witnessed projects like LUV ALL which was a Volleyball Tournament for all the Rotaract clubs. In JINGLE ALL THE WAY the holy festival of Christmas was celebrated with 13 institutions covering about 3011 people in the whole city, BAGHBAN- we visited the old age home called Dignity Foundation at Nerul where we interacted with senior citizens and also released a bulletin on their stories, RSEROTARACT STOCK EXCHANGE where we created a Bolt and unseen situations where members could buy and sell shares and understand the trading system and in AID THE WAY we created awareness about AIDS through questionnaires.
January saw huge projects like SUPER SIXTEEN-A Cricket Tournament where 16 teams from 12 different Rotaract Clubs battled it out. VOGUE THE 13TH- is the only Inter- School Personality Contest in the city of Mumbai which witnessed 919 people, 16 Partners, 9 Sponsors and Magnificent Judges. NATIONAL YOUTH DAY was celebrated on 12th January where the responsible youth of today threw light on the current issue of Teenage Suicide and got a front page, headlines coverage in the DNA newspaper for the same. MANORANJAN MELA- a Fun Fair for the Intellectually Impaired, Deaf & Mute and Under- Privileged was planned to entertain them. This year the project witnessed over 500 people!
February witnessed projects like REP- ROTARACT EXCHANGE PROGRAMME where
for a month one Member from our Club attended all Meeting and Projects of the Rotaract Club of Lalalaj Patrai College and one Member from the Rotaract Club of Lalalaj Patrai College attended Meetings and Projects of The Rotaract Club of H.R.College. PRERNA - An athletic meet for the intellectually impaired which witnessed around 372 students participating from around 29 institutions from the city of Mumbai and all the race were formulated adopting the theme of STOP GLOBALWARMING.
March saw thrilling projects like FUSION 2010 which was an Interact Ryla for 2 days and witnessed participartion from around 107 Interactors from different schools and has been nominated to be sent to the Rotary International, PRAKRUTI- A tree plantation drive and AASHAYEIN- An essay writing competition for the Deaf and Mute Children were also conducted.
R.C.H.R has successfully organized 361 projects in 9 months and with 3 more months remaining the club pledges to leave its mark in every possible field.
