About the Club

ICHR is a community that caters to college students with a high level of aptitude and interest in the functioning of the financial markets. ICHR seeks to promote understanding and analysis of the corporate world through informative speakers, conferences and events.

Bollywood Stock Exchange

Cinema and the stock market are two of the biggest crazes in the country today. A good release on Friday cheers the weekend up for everyone and a when the market ends on a positive note, everyone goes home with a smile back on their faces. The Investment Club of H.R. College sought to combine these two religions in the country with BOLLYWOOD STOCK EXCHANGE (B.S.E.). The B.S.E. held on the 21st July, 2010 witnessed 127 teams, 254 investors and 15 ICHR brokers. Investors were in teams of two and each team had a notional Rs 10L. The event was flagged of by Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Indu Shahani, as she listed the actors on the B.S.E. Every investor concentrated on achieving the highest net worth.Constant and consistent surprises kept everyone alert. The Investment Club on its part had done all the required research and had made all preparations that kept the event fun and exciting throughout. The event demands thorough research and a lot of preparation. It is our attempt to teach the participants the intricacies of the market with some fun and in a practical manner.

Hollywood Stock Exchange

This year H.R. College had the privilege of hosting a student delegation of students from all over U.K. (hosted by King's College, London). After the super success of Bollywood Stock Exchange, we organized Hollywood Stock Exchange for them. All investors were divided in teams of two, with a total of 50 teams, and ten stars were listed on the exchange. For us it was a much bigger challenge, as we had to do some very intensive research on the performance of the actors/actresses, their awards and scams for the last ten years, and the 12 ICHR brokers did a commendable job in aiding the delegation with any problem they encountered. It was also a challenge because many students were from non-commerce backgrounds and had no idea about financial markets. So we took it upon ourselves to help them journey the intriguing world of the financial markets in a fun and light way.

Cerebrum Tingler

The Investment Club of H.R. College organised 'Cerebrum Tingler-A Finance Quiz', in and for the college. It is one of the most awaited event in this college. The event is one of ICHR'S trademark events and is aimed at testing, enhancing and also enriching the various finance related fundas, skills and knowledge of the students. The quiz this year saw a total participation of 27 teams from the various college courses. There were five rounds in the quiz. It started by two written eliminations, went on to buzzers, rapid fire and also visual rounds. The last round of the quiz was unique and was appreciated by participants and faculty alike. The last round was based on a 'snakes and ladders' platform giving the participants a chance to quickly finish the game by giving the right answer on certain blocks. In a nutshell, the quiz gave students a chance to display their finance knowledge, the club members (organisers) got hands onexperience in organising an event of such magnitude and also comparing and hosting the show, and the audience had a blast watching the quiz.
This year was extremely fruitful in terms of the programs organised, student participation and of course the learning outcomes generated from them.
