HINDI SAHITYA PARISHAD
The Hindi Sahitya Parishad is a cultural club which organizes events to promote Indian culture among the students of our college. It helps to keep alive the rich Indian traditional heritage.
The club began its activities by celebrating ‘GURU POORNIMA’ on
7th July, 2009. The programme was held to honour the terachers and to show gratitude to them. Principal, Dr. Indu Shahani and Prof. V.N.Sharma were our esteemed guests.
The junior college students put up various cultural activities like dance, songs, bhajans, etc. Besides the student performances, Principal Dr. Indu Shahani sang a bhajan ‘Hari Om Bol.'
There were various fun-games organized especially for the teachers where the they won attractive prizes.
Hindi Essay Competition was organized on July 27, 2009. This competition is held every year to encourage the students to showcase their Hindi writing skills. This year the topics rangedfrom BHARASHTRACHAR KA SAMUL VINASH AVASHYAK, PRAKRITI AUR MAANAV, EK SAFAL NARI KI ATMAKATHA, DESH KE PRATI YUVA VARG KA DAYITVA to SAHITYAAUR SAMAAJ.
The winners were awarded trophies and the other participants were given certificates of participation. One of the most popular events organised by the HSP is the ‘GUL-E-GULZAR’ which was held on December 8, 2009. This programme had two parts, viz. SHER-O-SHAYARI & HASYA VYANG KAVITA. The event commenced with the chanting of ‘Devi Mantra’. In Sher-o-Shayari, the competitors had to recite couplets on a variety of topics whereas in the Hasya Vyang Kavita, the participants recited poems which had a mixture of humor as well as satire. Prof. V.N. Sharma and Vice-Principal Mrs. Anila Pillai encouraged the students by reciting a few couplets at the beginning of the programme. Like every year the event was very well appreciated. The HSP had a great time organizing these events and also participating in them. Besides these activities, the club members also participated in various college events like Talent Parade where the B-BOYING of the club members were was applauded.
